Book Two: Journey to the Mountain Series
the intense heat of the desert. There is no way to the mountain of God
except to cross the vast and forsaken desert that surrounds it on all
sides. If we are ever to journey closer to the Lord, we must ultimately
cross the heat of the desert and allow it to transform us. There is no way
around the heat of the desert. It is here that the Lord will use the desert
to purify our hearts, to renew our minds, and to transform our lives in
order that we come into his presence. It is here that we will discover the
deep things we harbor in our heart that separate us from knowing the
Lord. It is here that we will learn to pursue integrity, an upright heart,
and faithfulness in order that we might come closer to knowing the Lord
and discover the power of his presence.
